Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Tankard!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Richlin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tankard lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Tankard closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Richlin did well to prevent Tankard getting side control.
Richlin is refusing to be controlled, as Tankard sits in half guard.
Tankard not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Richlin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tankard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tankard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tankard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richlin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tankard is working Richlin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Richlin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Richlin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tankard.
Frank Richlin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tankard scores with a one two! Richlin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Frank Richlin has been cut.
Richlin misses with a looping left.
Richlin misses the jab.
Richlin lands a jab to Tankard's midsection.
Tankard comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Richlin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tankard counters with a straight right hand.
Richlin looks to land a right hand but Tankard moved out of range.
Tankard lands a jab to Richlin's midsection.
Richlin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A good leg kick by Tankard.
Richlin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd cheers as Tankard lands an impressive looking overhand right. Richlin doesn't seem phased though.
Richlin is breathing heavily.
Tankard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Richlin on the side of the head.
Tankard connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Richlin's hands.
Richlin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Richlin throws a combination that misses
and Tankard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tankard digs a good body shot into Richlin's ribs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tankard lands a leg kick that knocks Richlin off balance momentarily.
Good leg kick by Tankard there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tankard with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tankard throws a quick inside leg kick.

Tankard gets the takedown into side control.

Tankard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Richlin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Richlin taking punishment in the form of punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tankard has an Americana. Richlin didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Tankard is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Tankard hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Luke Tankard!
