PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Jeremy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Rayson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy comes to the cage accompanied by Butterfly by Crazy Town. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Jeremy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bobby Rayson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rayson drives through and clinches with Jeremy against the cage.
Rayson avoiding damage.
Jeremy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rayson has him pressed against the cage.
Rayson prevents Jeremy from breaking the clinch.

Rayson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jeremy regains guard immediately.
Rayson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jeremy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jeremy keeping full guard, as Rayson tries to pass.
Rayson wants to stand but Jeremy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jeremy is wriggling around but Rayson manages to pass to half guard.

Rayson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rayson is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Jeremy reverses the position - he's now on top in Rayson's guard.
Jeremy wanted to stand there but Rayson had control of the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Jeremy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rayson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rayson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jeremy closes the distance and clinches.
Rayson fails to pull guard.
Jeremy gets underhooks to prevent Rayson's takedown attempt.
Ron Jeremy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Rayson.
Rayson stops a takedown attempt from Jeremy.
Jeremy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Jeremy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rayson has him pressed against the cage.

Rayson drags the fight down to the ground.

Jeremy stands up from Rayson's guard - Jeremy perhaps looking for a knockout.

Jeremy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jeremy lands in his opponent's guard.

Rayson pulls Jeremy in close to prevent any damage.

Jeremy stands up and waves to Rayson to follow him.
Rayson looks for a takedown but Jeremy sprawls well.
Jeremy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jeremy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jeremy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Rayson counters with a takedown into side control.

Rayson controls the position.
Jeremy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rayson is controlling him well.
Jeremy stops Rayson from passing to mount.

Rayson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jeremy shoots and misses

and Rayson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rayson.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jeremy scrambles and gets back to his feet.

so Rayson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rayson won't allow Jeremy to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rayson wants to control from the top but Jeremy keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rayson prevents Jeremy from getting back to his feet.

Rayson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rayson wants to get back to full guard but Jeremy has mounted him!
Rayson is trying desperately to improve position.

Jeremy stands up from mount. Strange move.

Rayson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jeremy sprawls well initially but Rayson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jeremy is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Rayson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jeremy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jeremy closes the distance and clinches.

Rayson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jeremy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ron Jeremy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rayson thuds his shin into the meat of Jeremy's side.
Jeremy misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Rayson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jeremy won't be happy with that.
Rayson trying to control the action but Jeremy is working from the bottom.
Bobby Rayson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jeremy is pushing Rayson's head away, looking to escape. Rayson manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rayson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jeremy keeps working.

Rayson is trying to ground and pound but Jeremy uses the momentary lack of control by Rayson to regain half guard.
Rayson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Jeremy makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rayson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jeremy!
Rayson scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Rayson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jeremy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Rayson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Jeremy is bucking up trying to escape but Rayson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Jeremy is trying to stand up.

Rayson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jeremy is on top in guard.
Rayson has a closed guard, preventing Jeremy from standing up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jeremy tries to stand but Rayson is controlling from the bottom.
Rayson looking for a sweep. Not yet Rayson, not yet.
Rayson is controlling Jeremy's posture.
Rayson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobby Rayson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rayson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
