And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Humberto Jamie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Jamie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Jamie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jamie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jamie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffson Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Jamie tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Jamie manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jamie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Jamie landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Jamie tries a knee to the head but Gracie blocks it.

Jamie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jamie wants to slow Gracie down by chopping away at his legs.
Gracie slips under a jab from Jamie.
Gracie sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Gracie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jamie tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it.

Gracie is looking to clinch but Jamie is avoiding it.
Jamie cracks Gracie with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
A good leg kick by Jamie.
Jamie throws a head kick that Gracie semi-blocks.
Jamie misses with an uppercut.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.
Jamie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jamie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jamie wants it to stay on the feet.
That kick from Jamie tenderised Gracie's leg. Gracie is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jamie closes the distance but Gracie moves to the side

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Gracie stalls from top position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Jamie wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jamie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee asks Gracie politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Gracie prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jamie can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jamie has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
You can see the frustration on Jamie's face as Gracie controls the position.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jamie is letting Gracie control him for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeffson Gracie will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gracie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jamie.
Jamie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jamie throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Jamie keeps the fight on the outside.
Jeffson Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jamie tries to clinch up.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Jamie shows good takedown defense.
Jamie tries to clinch up but Gracie circles away and keeps his distance.
Jamie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jamie gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Gracie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Gracie shoots in and bounces Jamie off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Jamie keeps moving.

Jamie wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position.
Gracie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Jamie is keeping the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jamie's guard.
Jamie is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gracie passes the guard and advances to mount!
Jamie wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.
Jamie is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie moves to take his opponent's back.
Jamie is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Gracie.
Jamie trying to get back to his feet but Gracie is in full control for now.
Gracie just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jamie is keeping busy.
Jamie is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gracie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Gracie has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Jamie! Can he survive? No! He's out! Gracie gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jeffson Gracie!
