Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlton Bobandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlton Bobandi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Bobandi shows good takedown defense.
Bobandi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Bobandi gets the takedown into side control.
Bobandi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones wants to control but Bobandi postures up.
Bobandi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Bobandi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bobandi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jones gets back to half guard.
Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bobandi has eaten all the pies!
Jones distracts Bobandi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jones won't allow Bobandi to sweep him here.

Jones advances to half guard.
Jones is looking to take a break and control but Bobandi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jones prevents Bobandi from improving his position.
Jones lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bobandi wants to control the action here but instead Jones manages to pass to full mount!

Bobandi tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Jones has taken his back.

Jones has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Bobandi! Can he survive? No! He's out! Jones gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
