The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gismonti shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Gismonti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Gismonti persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gismonti throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva leaves Gismonti with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gismonti throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Gismonti tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A head kick misses from Gismonti.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silva has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gismonti defend it? Silva steps over the head and cranks it - Gismonti is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Silva!
