The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
alexys chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Scarr can pounce on him.
Scarr is looking to slow alexys down with leg kicks.
A slapping body kick lands there for Scarr.
alexys looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Scarr forces alexys back against the cage and clinches.
Scarr lands a good knee to the midsection. alexys won't want to take too many of those.

Scarr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
alexys on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Scarr has alexys up against the cage in a clinch.

alexys has picked Scarr up - he's going for a ride! alexys dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
alexys not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scarr is doing well to control the position and prevent alexys from advancing to side control.
Scarr is looking to improve his position.

alexys is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Scarr sees it coming and defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

alexys throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

alexys looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Scarr wants to improve his position but alexys is controlling well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
alexys wants to get back to his feet.
alexys throwing shots but Scarr is blocking nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scarr is pressing down on alexys's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scarr fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and alexys has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
