The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blanc shoots for a takedown but King saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
King doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Blanc counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blanc swings around for an armbar but King sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Blanc's guard.

Blanc drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blanc jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
King thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
King tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Blanc stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.
King wants to stand but Blanc is controlling the position.
Blanc slips nicely into half guard.

Blanc is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from King as he works his way to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Blanc tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
Blanc is pushing down on King's leg trying to pass to half guard. King is fighting to maintain full guard but Blanc has managed to sneak the leg through.

Blanc jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but King manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Blanc is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.

Blanc goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, King has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Blanc but great work by King.

Blanc is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King is just riding it out for now. Blanc eventually gives up the hold.

King tries to kick Blanc off but Blanc keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Blanc has hold of King's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and King manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
