The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Moretti closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hastings did well to prevent Moretti getting side control.

Hastings bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moretti's guard.

Hastings drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hastings jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hastings passes Moretti's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Moretti kicks Hastings off and gets back to his feet.

Hastings is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Moretti's half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Moretti is staying active underneath Hastings, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hastings decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Hastings shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moretti as he jumps to the side.

Moretti changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hastings looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Moretti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hastings. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hastings has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Moretti doesn't defend quickly enough and Hastings has managed to lock this one up! Can Moretti escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Hastings on a fantastic submission victory.
