Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Bowron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dondi Daga!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daga dives in and grabs Bowron's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowron pushes down on Daga's head and hops out.
Ross Bowron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bowron avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Daga darts in and clinches Bowron up against the cage.
Bowron has a couple of punches blocked by Daga.
Daga dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Daga turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Daga fails to land a wild elbow strike.
A lull in the action here.
Daga tries to advance to mount but can't.

Daga decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bowron to his feet.

Daga misses with a wild body shot.
Daga looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bowron digs a good body shot into Daga's ribs.
Daga takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bowron lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bowron.

Daga tries to keep at a distance but Bowron has taken the fight into the clinch.
Bowron goes for a takedown in the clinch but Daga prevents it.

Daga decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowron pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daga is keeping the position for now.
Bowron not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Bowron tries to free his leg and advance position but Daga is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ross Bowron just wasn't active enough.
Bowron shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Daga eats them both and turns towards Bowron to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bowron misses with a few strikes there.
Bowron fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Bowron gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Daga to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bowron pushes Daga off and gets back to his feet.

Daga tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bowron manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bowron rushes Daga and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bowron lands with a short shot to the head.

Bowron using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Daga has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Daga is trying to break the clinch but Bowron has him pressed against the cage.
Bowron has Daga pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Daga manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bowron lands with a light punch inside.

Bowron has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Daga clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Daga tries to escape the position.

Bowron working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Daga looking very determined here, making life difficult for Bowron.

That's time! Bowron's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bowron breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bowron fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Daga has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Daga drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bowron pulls his leg out and moves away.
Daga tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bowron swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Daga takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bowron wants to control the pace but Daga is squirming around nicely.
Bowron tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bowron has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bowron tries to control but Daga wriggling away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daga can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bowron is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Daga is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Bowron takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Bowron lands a leg kick that knocks Daga off balance momentarily.

Daga is looking to control Bowron's arms but Bowron gets an underhook and turns him. Now Daga has his back to the cage.
Bowron prevents a takedown attempt there.
Daga blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bowron makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Bowron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Daga counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Daga looking to sit in guard and control but Bowron gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bowron chips away with some ground and pound.
Bowron trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bowron trying to control the position from guard on top but Daga is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ross Bowron has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Bowron gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Bowron has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Daga avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Bowron sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bowron makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bowron.
Daga tries to stand but Bowron is controlling from the bottom.

Ross Bowron is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Dondi Daga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bowron has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
