Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Roseman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papi Lon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Roseman is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Lon jumps into side control!

Lon decides to stand back up.
Roseman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Lon moves into the clinch.
Roseman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Lon decides to pull guard.

Lon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lon controls Roseman momentarily but Roseman frees himself.
Roseman throws and elbow that misses. Lon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roseman's guard. Nice move by Lon!

Lon is working for a submission of some sort.
Lon is taking a breather. Roseman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lon working over Roseman with some ground and pound. Roseman looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Lon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Lon has control of Roseman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Roseman regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Papi Lon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Roseman gets caught flat footed, as Lon shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Roseman to his feet.
Roseman stuffs the takedown.

Lon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Roseman is trying to defend but Lon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lon stands up and beckons Roseman to join him on the feet.
Lon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lon moves into the clinch.

Lon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Lon pushes Roseman off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roseman swivels and escapes.

and Lon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lon.
Roseman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lon just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

so Lon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Roseman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Papi Lon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Lon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roseman's waist but Roseman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lon off to one side.
Lon looks to land a combination but Roseman avoids it well.
Roseman shoots in for a double leg but Lon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Roseman tries to roll over but Lon keeps him under control.
Roseman tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Lon has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
