The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik tries to bum rush Mcghee with a series of wild strikes but Mcghee uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mcghee has Malik up against the cage in a clinch.
Mcghee gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Malik.
Malik is trying to drag Mcghee to the mat but Mcghee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Mcghee lands a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malik throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mcghee uses it to pass to side control.
Malik looks gassed!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Malik is looking to regain half guard here but Mcghee keeps moving and retains side control.
Malik is not content to let Mcghee control the position.
Malik prevents Mcghee from moving into mount.

Mcghee wants to control but Malik is keeping him busy.

Malik wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Mcghee has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Malik's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Malik is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Mcghee!
