A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Marks!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marks shoots and misses

and Shankara counters with a nice double leg into side control. Marks won't be happy with that.
Marks tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Marks regains half guard there - taking advantage of Shankara's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marks is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Marks is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shankara pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Marks shoots and misses

and Shankara decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Marks's guard.

Marks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shankara defends it easily.
Shankara slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Marks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shankara is aware though and is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Marks wants to improve his position but instead Shankara has moved into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marks is not content to let Shankara control the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Marks has his takedown stuffed

and Shankara counters with a takedown into side control.
Marks tries to bench press Shankara off him but Shankara keeps the position.
Marks is not content to let Shankara control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Marks is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shankara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marks keeps working.
Naja Shankara is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Marks tries to buck Shankara off but Shankara is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Naja Shankara showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Shankara has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
