PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Vorg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Stigu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stigu has chosen Sabrina, Boys as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stigu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vorg.

Vorg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vorg lands in his opponent's guard.
Vorg is looking to work some ground and pound but Stigu has wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sergei Vorg just wasn't active enough.

and Stigu counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Stigu stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mr Stigu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stigu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vorg stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Vorg is breathing heavily.
Stigu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vorg.
Vorg walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Vorg slips a jab and a cross from Stigu.

and Vorg counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Vorg wants to pass the guard but Stigu is keeping the position.

Vorg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Vorg drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stigu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vorg has Stigu in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vorg postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Stigu is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vorg, into his guard.

Stigu is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vorg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vorg has escaped and now he's on top!

A close second round but Mr Stigu will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Stigu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vorg's head backwards.
Sergei Vorg is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vorg takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Stigu cracks Vorg with an uppercut from hell and Vorg crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Stigu's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mr Stigu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Vorg takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

A looping hook to the body misses from Stigu. Vorg does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mr Stigu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
