The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
cook tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Didell was well out of range. Poor timing from cook.
cook connects with a body shot that sends Didell's belly button to the back.
cook shoots for a double leg takedown but Didell sprawls well. He's pushed cook's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nice defenses there by Didell.
Didell takes a swing at cook's ribcage but misses.
cook looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Didell is fending him off so far but cook persists. Nope, Didell circles away and we're back to standing.
Didell lands with a nice combination. cook backs away looking to recover.

Didell rushes cook and presses him up against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Didell creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Didell is pushing cook up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
cook tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Didell just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for ben cook. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Didell dips a shoulder and cracks cook with a mighty uppercut! cook falls back against the cage and Didell unloads with a barrage of strikes! cook is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Didell screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
