Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Relson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jun Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Relson Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama fails with the takedown.
Akiyama is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Akiyama looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Akiyama tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position.
Akiyama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Akiyama knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gracie advances to full mount.
Gracie tries to control but Akiyama wriggling away.
Akiyama is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie wants to control the pace but Akiyama is squirming around nicely.
Akiyama tries to hold on but Gracie postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie moves to take his opponent's back.
Akiyama manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gracie's guard. Nice work there by Akiyama.
Gracie is pulling down on Akiyama's head to control his posture.
Akiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Akiyama got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Akiyama has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gracie is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Akiyama rolls with it to try and escape but Gracie cranks on the arm and Akiyama is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
