Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pepito Manaloto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lustmord - Oblivion. James Smith told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith darts in and clinches Manaloto up against the cage.
Manaloto has had enough of the clinch but Smith keeps him there for the moment.
Smith has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Manaloto clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Smith throwing strikes and Manaloto squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.
Manaloto wants to control but Smith is having none of it.
Manaloto is working to get back to half guard.
Manaloto bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is trying to keep Manaloto in close.
Smith manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Manaloto dives in and grabs Smith's left leg, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes down on Manaloto's head and hops out.

Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Manaloto pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Manaloto sprawls well. Manaloto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Manaloto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Manaloto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
Smith throws a push kick but Manaloto slaps the foot to one side.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Manaloto sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Manaloto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Manaloto is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
