The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Simon. That snapped Abasov's head back.
Simon throws a series of punches but Abasov avoids them all with ease.
Rusik Abasov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simon misses with the combination.
Abasov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Simon.
Simon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Simon, as that shot connected.
Simon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Abasov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Abasov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Abasov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Abasov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Simon is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Abasov yanks on the arm and Simon is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Abasov.
