PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaimana Ladera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tandi Barsolo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladera comes to the cage accompanied by Otherside Red hot chili peppers. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ladera rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Barsolo counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Barsolo scores with a hook to the body. Ladera takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ladera has his takedown stuffed
and Barsolo counters with a nice leg kick.
Ladera misses with a takedown
and Barsolo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Barsolo tries a head kick but it misses.
Barsolo fails to land with a series of punches.

Ladera wants to clinch but Barsolo slips to the side
and Barsolo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Barsolo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ladera looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Barsolo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Kaimana Ladera has been cut.
Ladera tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Barsolo counter with a right hand.

Ladera wants to clinch but Barsolo slips to the side
and Barsolo counters with a one-two to the body.

The fighters circling - Barsolo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ladera uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barsolo.
Ladera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ladera takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Barsolo fails to land with a series of punches.
Ladera ducks right into an uppercut from Barsolo.
Ladera gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Barsolo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ladera is breathing heavily.

and Ladera decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Barsolo's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Barsolo holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barsolo is looking for a triangle but Ladera pushes his legs off easily.

Barsolo is trying to keep Ladera in close.
Ladera looking to sit in guard and control but Barsolo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ladera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Barsolo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ladera is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barsolo, into his guard.
Ladera wants to control from the top but Barsolo keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ladera wants to stand and escape but instead Barsolo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Barsolo drops Ladera with a naaaaasty hook - Ladera is in real trouble here! Barsolo dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
