Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Man D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murdock Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). D kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Prodigy - Firestarter. Man D could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Murdock Jr's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Man D!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Murdock Jr!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jr tries a low kick but D avoids it.
D finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from D enables Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. D manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jr preventing the sweep.

Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. D swivels though and keeps the full guard.

D connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
D slaps away a takedown attempt from Jr, before circling back to the center of the mat.
D tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

D misses with a looping left.
D takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jr cracks the inside of D's front leg.
Man D seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
D takes one to the chin there.
Jr has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Jr moves away from the strike by D.
D checks the leg kick nicely there.
Jr swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

D is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Jr's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

and D counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by D.
D gets underhooks to prevent Jr's takedown attempt.
Man D has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murdock Jr.

That was a close second round but I would say that Man D will probably get the nod.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jr connects with a nice short shot to D's temple.

D steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jr.

Jr is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! D is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! D has escaped and now he's on top!

Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
D stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

D has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in D's guard.
D manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jr manages to get himself to full guard.
Jr manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
