Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lotus Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dawson comes to the cage accompanied by Lambda Lambda Lambda Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson swats away the attempt to clinch by Hawkins.
Hawkins misses with a few strikes there.

Dawson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dawson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawkins keeps working.

Hawkins is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dawson has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hawkins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dawson is nestled in close to Hawkins, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hawkins has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dawson is proving hard to escape from.
Dawson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Dawson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hawkins's waist but Hawkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dawson off to one side.
