PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shissi Aren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aren gets a takedown into half guard.
Aren wants to stand up but Red is controlling the position.

Aren thows a huge punch but Red dodges it nicely.

Red is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Aren is aware though and is defending well.
Aren wants to control from the top but Red keeps moving.
Aren postures up and lands a big shot to Red's brow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Shissi Aren wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Aren shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Red defends it nicely.
Aren tries to close the distance and clinch up but Red swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Red swats away the attempt to clinch by Aren.

Red throws an overhand right that lands on Aren's shoulder, as Aren tries to avoid the shot.
Red gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Aren counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Red is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aren is controlling him.

Red had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aren defends it easily.

Red looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Aren has picked Red up and slammed him! Red can't keep hold of the triangle and Aren manages to pass to side control!

Red can't do much from the bottom here.

Aren tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Aren looks up at the clock and then as Red takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Aren smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Red tries to escape but Aren is in control.
Aren lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Red down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aren cracks Red with a big right hand but Red just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Aren tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Red was well out of range. Poor timing from Aren.

Aren is looking to stand back up but Red counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Aren.
Red is keen to just control but Aren is a slippery customer.
Aren might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Aren wants to get back to full guard but Red has mounted him!

Red jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Aren manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Aren manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Aren makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Aren.

Aren manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Red manages to get himself to full guard.

Red is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Aren has his hands clasped together but Red extends an breaks Aren's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Red.
