Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phillips comes to the cage accompanied by Tarantula. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Butch Reed!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reed gets a takedown into half guard.
Phillips looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Reed decides to stand up.
Phillips slaps away a takedown attempt from Reed, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Reed shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Phillips manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Reed looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Reed thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Phillips being controlled here, momentarily.

Reed gets to his feet - Phillips follows without any prompting.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Reed connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Phillips gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reed to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Reed drops back looking for a leg! Phillips is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Phillips manages to kick Reed off! Reed jumps back into Phillips's guard.
Reed in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Phillips is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Reed decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Phillips, up you get!

Reed shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Phillips napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Reed wants to control but Phillips is keeping him busy.

Reed stands up and beckons Phillips to his feet.

Reed fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Phillips sprawls well initially but Reed persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reed controlling the action here.
Reed's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Reed wants to work for an arm triangle but Phillips is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Reed content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Butch Reed dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Reed bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Reed works to advance to full mount. Phillips defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Phillips holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Reed tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Reed looking to control and managing it successfully.

Reed is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Phillips to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Phillips shrugs it off.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reed is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Reed wants to control the pace but Phillips is squirming around nicely.

Reed has hold of Phillips's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Phillips manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Reed looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Phillips is squirming around, avoiding Reed's attempts to control the action.
Reed working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Reed takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Reed is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Reed extends the arm and Phillips is forced to tap!
