The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kento.
Kento tries to close the distance and clinch but Wright swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Wright drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kento manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wright has Kento in his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wright looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kento with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kento stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wright swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wright has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kento off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
