Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arona Blackburns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Bebeto!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackburns looks to score with a jab to the body but Bebeto is just out of range.

Bebeto darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
I looks like Bebeto might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Bebeto wants to control the pace but Blackburns is squirming around nicely.

and Bebeto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blackburns's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Paulo Bebeto hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Blackburns is trying to drag Bebeto to the mat but Bebeto just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bebeto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blackburns keeps working.

Bebeto working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Paulo Bebeto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bebeto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blackburns keeps working.

Well Bebeto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
