Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Brutus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshall Mason!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brutus cracks a nice hook into Mason's ribs.
Brutus shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mason sprawls well. Mason wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brutus gets slowly back to his feet.
Brutus uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mason has time to react.

Brutus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mason's half guard.

Mason drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brutus manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mason has Brutus in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Brutus misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Marcus Brutus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

and Brutus counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brutus connects with a nice short shot to Mason's temple.

Brutus is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mason doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brutus.
