Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donny Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Amauri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meyers kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Iron Man by Ozzy Osborne. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyers drops Amauri with a right and a left! Meyers comes rushing in but Amauri regains his composure and manages to keep Meyers in guard.

It looks like Luis Amauri has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meyers throwing strikes from guard but Amauri blocks nicely.
Amauri is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Amauri is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Meyers is just riding it out for now. Amauri eventually gives up the hold.
Amauri thows a huge punch but Meyers dodges it nicely.
Amauri sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Meyers defending well though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Amauri wants to work for an arm triangle but Meyers is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Amauri is keen to just control but Meyers is a slippery customer.
Amauri wants to free his trapped foot but Meyers is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Amauri not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Meyers on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Meyers looks like he's trying to stand up.
Amauri throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Amauri thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Meyers's head.

Meyers is defending against the submission attempts here by Amauri.
Meyers is staying active underneath Amauri, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Amauri passes the guard and advances to mount!
Meyers wants to hold on but Amauri pushes him away.
Amauri working the ground and pound effectively.
Amauri has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Meyers swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Meyers tries to lock up and control but Amauri gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Amauri is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Meyers can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
