The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez ducks under a wild hook from James.
James throws a solid leg kick but Sanchez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at James.
James wants to clinch up but Sanchez keeps it at a distance.

Horrible takedown by Sanchez or perhaps it was just good defense by James which made him look bad.

and Sanchez counters with a single leg into guard. James didn't expect that.

James on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if James tries to get out of the position.

James seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
James's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Sanchez drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Sanchez off! Sanchez jumps back into James's guard.
James manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
James wanted to stand there but Sanchez had control of the position.

Sanchez has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.
