Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between jhay vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takito Pequito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
vera slips a straight right by Pequito.
vera dodges the punch combination from Pequito.
Pequito stuffs the takedown attempt from vera. vera gets slowly back to his feet.
Pequito tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pequito throws a big shot that misses.
Nice takedown defense from Pequito. No joy for vera on that attempt.
Pequito thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pequito closes the distance and clinches.
vera wants a takedown but no success here.

vera goes for a takedown attempt but Pequito pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pequito is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Pequito is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pequito is looking for a kimura but vera is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pequito to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
vera is trying to stand back up but Pequito is controlling him

Pequito is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. vera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pequito.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

vera makes his way to full guard, as Pequito worked for a kimura.
Pequito stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. vera swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pequito content to stall in guard here.
Pequito is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pequito throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. vera tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pequito is in vera's guard.

Pequito drops back looking for a leg! vera is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and vera manages to kick Pequito off! Pequito jumps back into vera's guard.

Pequito has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pequito throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for vera because Pequito loaded up on that one.
