Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francis Zerda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and greg aertz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Francis Zerda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Francis Zerda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, greg aertz!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zerda throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Zerda is trying hard to land a takedown here. aertz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Zerda displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from aertz.
Zerda tries a head kick but it misses.
A combination from Zerda does no damage.
Zerda throws a wild body kick that aertz sees coming a mile off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and aertz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zerda won't be happy with that.
aertz cracks Zerda with a big right hand but Zerda just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Zerda is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

aertz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Zerda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

aertz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zerda keeps working.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

aertz has hold of Zerda's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zerda manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Zerda is bucking up trying to escape but aertz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Zerda counters with a good low kick that aertz was not able to check.

aertz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and aertz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

aertz is working Zerda over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
aertz stands up over Zerda, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. aertz connects with a nice short shot to Zerda's temple.
