The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Staley.
Simmons staying out of range there.
Staley looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Staley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Simmons avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Staley.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Staley trying to control the position but Simmons is working away.

Staley stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Nice takedown defense from Simmons. No joy for Staley on that attempt.
Staley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Simmons.

Simmons throws an overhand right that drops Staley like a sack of potatoes! Simmons dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
