PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Bantou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavin Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bantou comes into the arena with Brownvillian blaring out of the sound system. Douglas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Drowning Pool - Step up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jack Bantou has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bantou feints and then cracks Douglas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Douglas down.
Douglas moves out of range as Bantou throws a body kick.
Bantou scores with a push kick.
Some wild striking there from Bantou.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bantou, right into the meat.
Bantou misses with a body kick.
Jack Bantou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bantou tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Bantou gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Douglas stays in close to Bantou's body and controls the position.
Bantou wants to stand up but Douglas is controlling him.
Bantou is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Douglas dives into side control.
Bantou wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Douglas is working to tighten is grip on Bantou's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bantou has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Douglas is really squeezing tight and eventually Bantou passes out! Douglas breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
