The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

GUIDO scores a takedown into full mount!
GUIDO lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ortega hang on?
Ortega wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Ortega wants to control his opponent's hands but GUIDO gets his hands free.
GUIDO has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ortega's body.
Ortega has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
GUIDO keeps control of the position as Ortega tries to break free.

Ortega wants to stand but GUIDO is controlling his posture from full guard.
GUIDO is pulling down on Ortega's head. It's preventing any offense from Ortega, at least for the moment.
GUIDO lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ortega!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

GUIDO gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

and GUIDO counters with a single leg into guard. Ortega didn't expect that.

Ortega is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ortega tries to pass the half guard into mount. GUIDO knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
GUIDO gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortega wants to control from the top but GUIDO keeps moving.
GUIDO really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ortega wants to stand but GUIDO has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

GUIDO will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

GUIDO manages to escape and get back to his feet.
GUIDO is breathing heavily.
Ortega takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ortega wants to clinch but GUIDO slips to the side

and GUIDO counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ortega using the Thai plumb to throw knees but GUIDO has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The referee is keeping an eye on GUIDO - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

GUIDO escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Ortega counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ortega.

GUIDO slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Ortega has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. GUIDO doesn't defend quickly enough and Ortega has managed to lock this one up! Can GUIDO escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Ortega on a fantastic submission victory.
