PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roland Deschain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sota Koira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Deschain might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kid Rock - American Bad Ass. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koira with a hook.
Deschain clobbers Koira with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Deschain attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Deschain fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Koira has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Deschain misses with a body shot.
Deschain takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Roland Deschain has been cut.
Deschain throws a jab but it's blocked by Koira.
Koira fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Koira with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Deschain to score with a decent uppercut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Deschain uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Koira has time to react.
Deschain closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A shot to the liver by Deschain. Beautiful body shot.
Koira misses with an uppercut.
Koira looks to throw the jab but Deschain is out of range.
Deschain lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Koira throws an off balance right hand
and Deschain counters with a stiff right hand.
Deschain cracks Koira with a right hand to the side of the head.
Koira connects with a good right hand that stumbles Deschain. Deschain circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Donk. Deschain catches Koira right on the button with a cross.
A looping hook to the body misses from Deschain. Koira does a little dance to reset his feet.
Deschain is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Koira throws the left hand but Deschain avoids the punch easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Deschain.
Deschain takes a jab right on the kisser.
Deschain slips a straight right by Koira.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koira looks to land a combination. Deschain sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Deschain is rocked!
Koira is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Deschain.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Deschain, as that shot connected.
Koira keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Deschain.
A swing and a miss from Koira.
Deschain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Koira doesn't seem bothered though.
Deschain stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A low kick from Koira misses
and Deschain counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Koira might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Koira lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Deschain circles away quickly and effectively.
Deschain looks to land a left hand but Koira moved out of range nicely.
Deschain with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Deschain throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Deschain just misses with a punch to the body.
Deschain works over Koira's head and body with a nice combination.
Koira steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Deschain.

Deschain lands with a cross.

Koira is rocked!
Koira takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Koira looks gassed!
Deschain bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Koira is still on wobbly legs! Can Deschain finish him?
Deschain pounces like a tiger and cracks Koira with a vicious hook! Koira is down but not out! Deschain follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
