PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henry Pollock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Klinkosz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Piotr Klinkosz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Pollock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Piotr Klinkosz!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Klinkosz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Klinkosz throws a series of punches but Pollock moves out of range.
Klinkosz misses with an uppercut.
Pollock shoots in for a takedown but Klinkosz shows good takedown defense.
Klinkosz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Klinkosz throws the left hand but Pollock avoids the punch easily.
Pollock shoots for a double leg takedown but Klinkosz sprawls well. He's pushed Pollock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Klinkosz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pollock avoids the body shot from Klinkosz.
A slow jab from Klinkosz misses its intended target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Klinkosz is looking to clinch but Pollock is avoiding it.
Klinkosz is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Klinkosz scores with a sloppy right hand. Pollock should have avoided that one.
Klinkosz lands a slapping body shot.

Klinkosz has taken the fight to the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Pollock pushing down on Klinkosz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Pollock content to control rather than advance.
Pollock has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Henry Pollock just wasn't active enough.
Pollock uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Klinkosz.
Pollock shoots in and drives through. Klinkosz sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Pollock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Klinkosz's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pollock under the eye.

Klinkosz lands a lovely overhand right.
Klinkosz wants to clinch up but Pollock keeps it at a distance.
Klinkosz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pollock counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Klinkosz throws a looping overhand right but Pollock ducks down to avoid it.
Klinkosz throws a hook to the side of Pollock's head but Pollock sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Klinkosz misses with a looping right.

Klinkosz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Pollock tries to lock up and control but Klinkosz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Klinkosz thowing shots but they're missing.
Oh Pollock is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Klinkosz landing shots from mount.
Klinkosz postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Pollock bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Klinkosz and the fight is over!
