The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mumps tries for a takedown but Skillet sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Skillet has managed to clinch.

It looks like Hoden Mumps has been cut.
Mumps throws a knee to the head but misses.

Skillet is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mumps is just riding it out for now. Skillet eventually gives up the hold.

Skillet looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Skillet passes to side control.
Mumps regains half guard.
Skillet wants to pass the guard but Mumps is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Skillet thows a huge punch but Mumps dodges it nicely.
Mumps is staying active underneath Skillet, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Skillet is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mumps defends it well.

Skillet wants to work for an arm triangle but Mumps is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Skillet is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mumps is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
