Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wally Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Monkey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Monkey misses with a kick to the body.
Monkey throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson.

Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Monkey tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Monkey to the ground. Monkey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Monkey is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Horrible takedown by Monkey or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Monkey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Wally Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Xavier Monkey.
I think Monkey has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
