PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zak Zinfandel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quintin Quad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quad waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Zinfandel.
Quad avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Quad throws an overhand right that lands on Zinfandel's shoulder, as Zinfandel tries to avoid the shot.

Quad is looking to clinch.
Zinfandel throws a leg kick but Quad moved away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Quad clobbers Zinfandel with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Zinfandel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Zinfandel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Zinfandel lands a nice short elbow.
Zinfandel is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Quad!
The referee warns Quad that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zinfandel is landing with some decent strikes but Quad is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Quad fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zinfandel manages to avoid it.
Quad scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Zinfandel throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Quad stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Quad throws a big right hand that misses.
Quad throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zinfandel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Quad trying to control the position from guard on top but Zinfandel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Zinfandel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Quad won't allow Zinfandel to pass to mount.

Well Zinfandel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
