And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hans throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brogan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hans swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brogan throws a head kick that Hans semi-blocks.

It looks like Freddie Hans has been cut.
Brogan missing with a left hand there. Hans was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hans throws a push kick but Brogan slaps the foot to one side.
Brogan tries to clinch up.
Brogan slips a jab and a cross from Hans.
No joy there for Hans, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hans lands a slapping body shot.
Hans scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Brogan moves into the clinch successfully.

Hans successfully pulls guard.
Hans wants to sweep but no luck.
Brogan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Brogan trying to control but Hans is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brogan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hans can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brogan tries to stand but Hans is controlling from the bottom.
Brogan stopping the sweep attempt from Hans.
Brogan wanted to stand there but Hans had control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hans swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Brogan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hans.
Brogan lands with a straight right. Hans didn't see that one coming.
Brogan looks to land a left hand but Hans moved out of range nicely.
Brogan lands a high kick to the side of Hans's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Brogan dives into guard, looking to finish.

Hans is rocked!
Hans looks gassed!
Brogan postures up in Hans's guard and throws a big left but Hans blocks it.
Hans is still in real trouble! Can Brogan finish him?
Brogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hans swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hans seems to have recovered his senses.
Hans keeping moving, preventing Brogan from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hans is trying to control the position but Brogan postures up.
Brogan trying to control but Hans is working from the bottom.
Hans looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hans manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Brogan tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brogan is squirming around, avoiding Hans's attempts to control the action.

Brogan defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hans.
Poor strikes thrown by Hans there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Brogan is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lorenzo Brogan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Freddie Hans's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Brogan circles away from the clinch attempt
and Brogan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hans misses with a double jab
and Brogan counters with a straight right hand.
