Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maks Smirnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Bunoyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Bunoyan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov throws a one two combo.

It looks like George Bunoyan has been cut.
Bunoyan tries to clinch but Smirnov is having none of it.

Bunoyan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smirnov is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Smirnov blocks a head kick by Bunoyan.

Bunoyan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bunoyan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Smirnov!
Smirnov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Bunoyan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Bunoyan wants to finish this one by submission but Smirnov is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bunoyan.

Bunoyan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smirnov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Smirnov is desperately trying to improve his position but Bunoyan has a good base and remains in mount.

Bunoyan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Smirnov is on top in guard.
Bunoyan is controlling Smirnov's posture.

Bunoyan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Smirnov stacks Bunoyan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Smirnov!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bunoyan wants to control but Smirnov postures up.

Bunoyan tries to roll over but Smirnov keeps him under control.

Bunoyan wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Smirnov.
Bunoyan is desperately trying to improve his position but Smirnov has a good base and remains in mount.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bunoyan holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Smirnov tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bunoyan tries to hold on but Smirnov pushes him away.

Smirnov punching from mount but Bunoyan doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Bunoyan really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Bunoyan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but George Bunoyan will probably get the nod.

Smirnov with a lazy takedown attempt

and Bunoyan counters with a single leg into guard. Smirnov didn't expect that.
Smirnov is trying to hold Bunoyan in close to prevent damage but Bunoyan has managed to pass into half guard.
Bunoyan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Bunoyan stands up and beckons Smirnov to join him on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Smirnov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bunoyan counters with a shoot takedown. Smirnov fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bunoyan works over Smirnov with some ground and pound from guard.

Bunoyan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bunoyan is pushing down on Smirnov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smirnov is fighting to maintain full guard but Bunoyan has managed to sneak the leg through.

Bunoyan is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Smirnov is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
