The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Caldwell misses with a double jab.
Caldwell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Caldwell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Thompson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caldwell was well out of range. Poor timing from Thompson.
Dan Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Thompson connects with a body shot that sends Caldwell's belly button to the back.
Caldwell ducks under a wild hook from Thompson.

Thompson lands a left and a right that send Caldwell crashing to the mat, dazed. Thompson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Caldwell is rocked!

It looks like Jimmy Caldwell has been cut.
Thompson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Caldwell tries to clinch up.
Caldwell works the jab nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thompson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Thompson lands a big head kick that sends Caldwell tumbling to the mat! Thompson takes a step backwards and waves Caldwell back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Oh Caldwell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Caldwell leaves his chin hanging out and Thompson seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Caldwell crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
