Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Buckknuckle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herbie Versmellon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herbie Versmellon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Versmellon throws a head kick that half lands.
Versmellon wants to clinch.
Buckknuckle looks for a takedown but Versmellon sprawls well.
Versmellon misses with a head kick.
Versmellon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Buckknuckle on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Versmellon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Buckknuckle jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Versmellon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Versmellon tries to close the distance and clinch but Buckknuckle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Buckknuckle throws a looping overhand right but Versmellon ducks down to avoid it.
Versmellon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Buckknuckle swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Buckknuckle is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Versmellon tries to clinch but Buckknuckle is having none of it.

Buckknuckle stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Versmellon.

Buckknuckle jumps guard and drags Versmellon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Versmellon wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Buckknuckle's closed guard. He's half up but Buckknuckle has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Buckknuckle pivots and extends the arm, Versmellon falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Buckknuckle! Well done that man!
