The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mrga lands a nice looking body kick.
Kirillov shoots in but Mrga avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kirillov dives in and grabs Mrga's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mrga pushes down on Kirillov's head and hops out.
Kirillov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mrga lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kirillov takes a step back to recover.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Mrga.
Mrga misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Mrga counters with a big head kick but Kirillov shrugs it off.

Mrga is pressed up against the cage. Kirillov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mrga down to the mat. Mrga avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mrga escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mrga lands with a nice combination. Kirillov backs away looking to recover.

so Mrga counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mrga advances to half guard.
Mrga tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kirillov controls his leg.
Mrga is trying to control the action in half guard but Kirillov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mrga thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kirillov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mrga pulls his head out easily.

Kirillov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mrga is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mrga is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kirillov is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Mrga frees his head nicely. Oh but Kirillov has switched to an armbar! Mrga is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
