Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drake Hollis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Spiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hollis wants to clinch.
Hollis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hollis wants to control for a moment but Spiller uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Hollis wants to take a breather but Spiller is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round but I would say that Drake Hollis will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hollis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

OK we're going to have a standup here. David Spiller hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Spiller lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well Spiller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
