Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alezander Mataro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Viloria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alezander Mataro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Viloria!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mataro keeps the fight on the outside.
Viloria scores with a nice body kick.

Mataro scores a takedown into full mount!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mataro sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Mataro avoids the attempt from Viloria to control.
Mataro sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mataro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Mataro gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Viloria doesn't manage to clinch there - Mataro circles away.

Mataro shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Viloria is looking to improve his position.
Mataro is taking a breather. Viloria says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alezander Mataro wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Mataro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Viloria tries to escape but Mataro is in control.

Mataro decides to stand back up. Mataro steps back and let's Viloria get back to his feet.

Mataro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mataro looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Mataro thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Viloria to regain full guard.
Viloria is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Viloria looks gassed!
Mataro's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alezander Mataro.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Viloria tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mataro swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mataro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Viloria moves into full guard.

Mataro gets to his feet. Viloria looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mataro scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Mataro counters with a shoot takedown. Viloria fights it but they end up in guard.

That's time! Mataro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Mataro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Mataro politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mataro prefers to stall for the moment though.
Mataro tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Mataro controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mataro tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Mataro tries for a kimura but Viloria is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Viloria takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Mataro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Viloria is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mataro connects with a decent elbow.
Viloria tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A lull in the action here as Mataro stalls from top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mataro advances to full mount.

Mataro stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Viloria takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Mataro pushes Viloria up against the cage in a clinch.

Mataro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Viloria clinches but Mataro breaks the clinch

and Mataro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Viloria's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alezander Mataro.

and Mataro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mataro is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Viloria wants to sweep but no luck.
Mataro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Viloria swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Alezander Mataro wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A combination from Mataro does no damage.
Viloria takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Viloria tries to clinch

and Mataro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mataro distracts Viloria with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Mataro controls from within his opponent's guard.

Mataro stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Alezander Mataro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mataro shoots in and bounces Viloria off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mataro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Mataro has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mataro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
