Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brad Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magus Arbenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by Red Right Hand - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magus Arbenson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arbenson throws a hook to the side of Barnes's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Barnes missing with a left hand there. Arbenson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Arbenson moves out of range of the body kick from Barnes.
Arbenson throws a leg kick which misses Barnes's front leg but catches the back leg as Barnes tries to avoid it.
Barnes tries to clinch there but Arbenson circles away.
Arbenson avoids a kick to the body.
Barnes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Barnes slips under a jab.
Arbenson on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Barnes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arbenson.
Arbenson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Arbenson shoots for a double leg takedown but Barnes sprawls well. He's pushed Arbenson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Brad Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch lands to the side of Barnes 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Barnes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Arbenson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Arbenson showed some decent athleticism there.

Arbenson wants to take a breather but Barnes is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barnes is not content to let Arbenson control the position.
Barnes is concentrating on defense, preventing Arbenson from advancing position.
Arbenson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Barnes is looking to control Arbenson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barnes avoid being mounted?

No joy there for Barnes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barnes throws a shot from downtown. Arbenson moves away and avoids it.
Barnes throws a lazy right hand but Arbenson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Barnes takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Barnes is looking to clinch but Arbenson is avoiding it.
Arbenson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barnes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Arbenson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Arbenson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Arbenson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Barnes dives on top into guard.
Barnes wanted to stand there but Arbenson had control of the position.
Arbenson wants to sweep but no luck.

Barnes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Barnes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Arbenson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barnes has managed to get both his arms back between Arbenson's legs - danger averted.

Arbenson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barnes defends well.

Barnes won't allow Arbenson to pass to mount.
Arbenson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Magus Arbenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arbenson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

and Arbenson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Barnes's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Arbenson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Barnes rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Arbenson's guard! Nice work there by Barnes!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arbenson is trying to control the position but Barnes postures up.

Arbenson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Arbenson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Barnes tries to stand but Arbenson is controlling from the bottom.

Magus Arbenson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Arbenson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
