PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Barca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juryy Sobolev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobolev has chosen Pizdets vsem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobolev changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barca tries to avoid it but Sobolev manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barca to the ground. Barca escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck for Sobolev with that takedown attempt.

Barca tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sobolev was well out of range. Poor timing from Barca.
Barca keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Freddy Barca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juryy Sobolev.
Sobolev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Barca defends it nicely.
Barca throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sobolev takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Barca throws a series of punches but Sobolev avoids them all with ease.
Barca lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Sobolev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Barca circles away.
Barca slaps away a takedown attempt from Sobolev, before circling back to the center of the mat.

The fighters circling - Barca throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Sobolev tries to sprawl but Barca drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sobolev is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sobolev is looking for a sweep. Barca is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barca connects with a nice short shot to Sobolev's temple.
Barca is trying to control the action in half guard but Sobolev is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sobolev has his foot on Barca's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Barca works his way back into a safe position though.
Barca tries to stand but Sobolev is controlling from the bottom.

Barca has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sobolev to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Barca is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sobolev pulls down on the head and he's put Barca to sleep! This one is all over!
