PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Shellac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark closes the distance and clinches.

Clark tries to break the clinch but Shellac is controlling the position.

Bobby Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Clark feints a jab promting Shellac to slip. Clark then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shellac slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Shellac does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Clark tries to clinch there but Shellac circles away.
Clark lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Shellac is looking to wear down Clark with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Clark lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Clark closes the distance and clinches.
Shellac lands a nice knee to the body.

It looks like Bobby Clark has been cut.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shellac is breathing heavily.

Clark drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Clark jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Clark pushes down on Shellac's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Shellac is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shellac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clark on the ground.

Clark is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Clark is trying to work for a kimura but Shellac is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Clark looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Clark throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Clark looks to land a combination. Shellac sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Clark throws a front kick that sends Shellac stumbling back into the cage.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Clark, as that shot connected.

Clark has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Clark pushes Shellac against the cage. Clark is working some dirty boxing. Clark pushes off with a quick right hook! Shellac goes down! Shellac tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Clark moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
