Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Monteiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaycer Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaycer Silva struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Monteiro, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Monteiro against the cage but Monteiro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Monteiro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Monteiro jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Monteiro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it.
Silva takes a swing at Monteiro's ribcage but misses.
Monteiro throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silva lands with a nice combination. Monteiro backs away looking to recover.

and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Monteiro's guard now.
Monteiro wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him.
Silva with a flurry of punches that miss.
Silva postures up in Monteiro's guard and throws a big left but Monteiro blocks it.
Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Monteiro has wrist control.

Monteiro is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Monteiro's guard.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Monteiro is keeping the position.

Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Monteiro is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Monteiro is staying active underneath Silva, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Silva seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Monteiro is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
