And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Si Malakas!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Malakas blocks a head kick by Martinez.
Martinez goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Malakas drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Malakas forces his way into half guard.
Malakas wants to free his trapped foot but Martinez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Martinez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malakas trying to control the position from guard on top but Martinez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Malakas has gone for a leg lock! Martinez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Malakas's guard.

Malakas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Martinez!

Malakas working for a submission but Martinez is keeping him at bay.
Martinez holds on, trying desperately to control.

Malakas has control of Martinez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Martinez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Malakas goes for an armbar but Martinez turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Martinez.
Malakas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martinez's guard.

Malakas drops back looking for a leg! Martinez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Martinez manages to kick Malakas off! Malakas jumps back into Martinez's guard.
Martinez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Malakas slips nicely into half guard.

Malakas is looking for a kimura here.
Malakas moves into full mount! Martinez won't be happy about that!

Malakas quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Malakas but it's paid off an Martinez is forced to tap! Nice work by Malakas.
