Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Benz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Rotoras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rotoras is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Remember the Name!. Ricardo Rotoras told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Rotoras!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotoras throws out a loose jab but Benz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Benz jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Benz avoids the head kick by Rotoras.
Rotoras shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Benz finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Benz misses with a body shot.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Benz.
Benz cracks Rotoras with a right hand to the side of the head.

and Benz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Ricardo Rotoras has been cut.
Benz has Rotoras up against the cage in a clinch.
Benz pushes Rotoras back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Rotoras tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Benz smiles and moves away.

Rotoras shoots in looking for a takedown but Benz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rotoras's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mike Benz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Rotoras.
Benz connects with a body shot that sends Rotoras's belly button to the back.

Benz lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rotoras displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Benz throws out the jab.
Benz catches Rotoras with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rotoras is still on wobbly legs! Can Benz finish him?
Rotoras dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rotoras seems to have recovered his senses.
Mike Benz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Benz slaps away a takedown attempt from Rotoras, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Benz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rotoras fails to pull guard.
Benz works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rotoras lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A right handed body shot lands from Benz.
Rotoras is trying desperately to land a takedown but Benz is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Rotoras.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rotoras has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Benz lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Rotoras.

Benz lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Rotoras or not.
Benz lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rotoras backwards.

Benz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Benz is looking to slow Rotoras down with leg kicks.
Benz lands a leg kick that knocks Rotoras off balance momentarily.
Rotoras takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Benz fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rotoras.
Rotoras on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Benz lands a right hook to the body.

and Benz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Benz paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Benz tests Rotoras's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Benz misses the shot to the body.

Benz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Benz misses with a jab to the body
and Rotoras counters with a low kick, right behind Benz 's knee.
Benz throws a leg kick which misses Rotoras's front leg but catches the back leg as Rotoras tries to avoid it.

Benz misses with a hook to the body
and Rotoras counters with a takedown into side control.
Benz wants to control but Rotoras postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rotoras wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rotoras trying to control the action but Benz is working from the bottom.
Benz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rotoras.
Benz tries to improve position but can't.
Rotoras in side control lands a decent elbow.

Benz on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Benz is trying to control Rotoras's posture but Rotoras avoids it.
Rotoras throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Benz works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Benz controlling the position well.
Rotoras seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Benz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
